ARTC Presents: Dancer in the Dark & More
The Atlanta Radio Theatre Company returns to the Academy Theatre with their spring show full of drama, comedy, music, and more! At the heart of this show is 'Dancer in the Dark'
Blankenship, Georgia. The perfect place to study the pristine Malatowa Mounds. And when Cletius Tremaine, Professor Emeritus of Archaeology at Miskatonic University in Arkham, arrives to assist his newphew at the dig site, it starts as a quaint vacation.
But the summer country vacation turns horrifying as every living thing around the excavation site begins to die in ritual slaughter. Add to this the interpersonal conflict between the professor's nephew and the nephew's wife, which appears to be something out of Tennessee Williams until you notice the weird music and blight that is coming from the mounds. This is Fuller's brilliant combination of the Southern Gothic, Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos, and Aztec mythology.
Helping to tell this story of mystery and grace is another in ARTC's series of Partners in Imagination, CORE Performance Company. The ultimate tribute to a story that dances! ARTC will donate 25% of all ticket sales to CORE Performance Company to support their mission.
