Taming the Wild Yeast
Have you ever thought - I would LOVE to bake bread at home, but it's so much easier to just go out and buy it, and anyway, you can't even make good bread in a home oven? Josey Baker used to think those silly things too, until he tried to make sourdough bread at home and was blown away by how easy it is to make totally scrumptious loaves out of his little ole oven. Now he heads up the one-man Mission bakery, Josey Baker Bread, selling up to 80 loaves a week. Come hang out with Josey for a couple of hours and get a thorough introduction to making incredible bread at home. Participants will roll up their sleeves and play with sourdough starters, measure ingredients, knead and shape dough, and even bake several loaves. If we can do get deliciousness out of the 18 Reasons oven, you can definitely do it at home! And keep your eyes peeled: Josey will lead a bread baking series in February, where we'll delve into the phases of bread making in greater detail.
