Warner-Carrillo Stage Coach Rides
The Butterfield Overland stage transported thousands of passengers across the United States years prior to the Civil War as California's first regular overland stage connection with St. Louis. Here is your opportunity to experience a rare event, a stagecoach ride through history.
Your adventure begins at the historic Warner-Carrillo Ranch House museum. Built in 1857, the ranch house served as the Butterfield Stage Stop, although that is just one part of its multilayered history, it is one of the most important aspects of the site. The adobe home tells the story of the emigrant trail, the overland stage, and the prominent ranching history of the area.
The journey along the original trail will take approximately 15 to 20 minutes round-trip and includes a guided tour of the ranch house before or after each stage ride and light refreshments of lemonade and cookies will be included.
Enjoy the only such stage ride event in the country, a truly one of a kind experience! Tickets (Must be purchased in advance) SOHO Members $25 Non-members $35
PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING (You will sign this waiver onsite before your ride) In consideration of the opportunity to participate as a passenger on the Warner's Ranch House stage coach ride, I, the participant, agree to hold harmless SOHO and/or the Vista Irrigation District; I understand, covenant, and warrant that, as a participant, I acknowledge and represent that I am aware of the inherent risks to person or property involved in riding in a stagecoach on an unimproved, natural trail.
