The Music of Bond - Shaken & Stirred!
Starting out with jazz interpretations of the music from the films of James Bond featuring Nashville vocalist, Annie Sellick, stir in a little music from Hammond B3 organist, Akiko and shake in the Secret Agent Band of Akira Tana, and serve it up!
Returning to the Bay Area after spending 20 years in New York City, San Jose born Akira Tana has worked with Sonny Rollins, Zoot Sims, Hubert Laws, Art Farmer, Lena Horne, Charles Aznavour, The Manhattan Transfer, Van Dyke Parks, and has appeared on more than 200 recordings.
Jazz organist Akiko, a mainstay on the New York jazz scene since 2001, has performed at jazz festivals and jazz clubs worldwide, including tours of Europe and Japan. In 2012, she ranked sixth in Downbeat magazine's Rising Star category and has released five albums in Japan and four in the United States.
Jazz vocalist Annie Sellick of Nashville, Tennessee, has been compared to the greats, including Ella Fitzgerald, Carmen McRae and Betty Carter. But she is undeniably an original and there is nothing shy or demure about Sellick's control of the stage, the music, her sound and her audience.
Saxophonist James Mahone and guitarist Jeff Massanari round out rest of the members of the Secret Agent Band
