Liz Duffy Adams - Short Plays Hot & Fast
Straight from New York, and author of Or and Dog Act, Liz Duffy Adams returns to the New Play Institute!
A great way to write quickly, intensely and surprise yourself, short plays are also handy to have in-hand for festivals and anthologies. Even better, they can be sketches for more complex ideas and full-length plays (Adams' luminous Or, and The Listener both began that way). In this 6-session 18-hour course, you will write no less than three short plays (honestly), and you'll pick one to explore in rewriting. The final class will be a workshop of your play with professional actors.
If you're having trouble starting a new play, if you're craving that satisfying feeling of finishing a draft, if you tend to get mired in over-thinking and want to get out of your own way, if you want to explore multiple ideas and approaches rapid-fire in a supportive energized room full of writers join us for this workshop.
