Live at KPCC's Crawford Family Forum - New Music Night
KPCC, in partnership with Culdesac Kids Records, will be showcasing some of LA's best local artists in an intimate setting for a night of music you soon won't forget. The evening will include performances by Dulce de Leche, Sister Rogers, DJ Steve Martin (Culdesac Kids, KPFK My Side of the City) and a special performance by Sunshine Factory in celebration of their record release.
Sunshine Factory - The band absolutely killed it: it was like watching a band forged with elements of Pink Floyd, Steve Miller Band, and The Beach Boys but with a distinctly modern veneer. Peppering in a ample doses of funk and jam similar to a band like Chicago put the audience over the top, and my jaw almost dropped to see the usually unmovable hipster crowd jumping and dancing like crazy along with the band. - BestNewBands.com
Sister Rogers - formed less than a year ago with many members just above the age of consent, have in their short tenure formed a strong following and industry interest. Inspired by Jazz and Bossa Nova greats such as Vinicius De Moraes, Jobim Antonio Carlos and others. Sister Rogers has shifted through the past emerging to create their own sound. Classically influenced with modern inflections, Lush melancholic melodies atop pulsing and danceable Latin rhythms.
Dulce de Leche - "Eclectic sonic latin rhythms from the sun. Presented here by a band like no other. Mexico meets the west and this time there is a happy ending." - hiphopanonymous
