School of Rock Bellevue Performs: The Music of 'The 27 Club'

School of Rock students apply what they learn in a band setting, rehearsing together for months each show season to bring you amazing rock shows!

Back in the late 60's the rock music world was dealt a tragic hand. Several of its brightest stars burnt out within a few years of each other. Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, and Brian Jones all died between '69 & '71 at the age of 27. It wasn't until decades later following Kurt Cobain's death at the same age that people started to talk about "The 27 Club". Since then history has given us a plethora of great musicians taken from this world before their time including musicians from bands like The Gits, Badfinger, Amy Winehouse, Canned Heat, The Stooges, Big Star, and more. We'll be honoring these fallen greats by playing some of their best songs. This show will be a lot of fun and will highlight many varied musical styles.
