Shoreline CC Piano Recital Series, Part II
"20th-Century Music for Two Pianos" is Part 2 of 3 in the 2010-11 Shoreline Community College Piano Recital Series and features Dainius and Asta Vaicekonis performing Copland's El Salon Mexico, Ravel's La Valse and Shostakovich's Concertino. SCC faculty member Dainius Vaicekonis holds a doctorate from UW, and degrees from Bowling Green University (Ohio) and the Lithuanian Academy of Music. He participated in celebrated festivals, including
the Mozarteum Sommerakademie in Austria. Winner of the Gerberding Fellowship, UW Concerto Competition, Franz Schubert International Piano Competition, Germany, and Awards Tour Competition sponsored by Seattle Ladies Musical Club, he has appeared with numerous orchestras locally and abroad.
