JAZZ IT UP Music Series @ Sorrento Restaurant with The BILL NOREN GROUP

New Jersey's hot jazz and blues music concert event welcomes you to Jazz It Up on the last Wednesday of every month at Sorrento Italian Restaurant, located at 631 Central Avenue, Westfield, NJ
On Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 7pm the in demand concert sounds of The Bill Noren Group comes to this wonderfully intimate venue. This music quartet has been on the jazz scene in the New Jersey area for several years and individual members have been on the NJ music scene for much longer. The group specializes in straight-ahead and bebop jazz, having devised its own unique arrangements of standards while still allowing its members to improvise freely. Strong musical style influences from artists such as: John Coltrane, Count Basie, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Ray Barretto, Herb Ellis, Tito Puente, Lester Young, Ron Carter and others have led the group down a path of creative musical discovery.
The group was founded and is led by drummer Bill Noren and includes Tom Rosenthal on saxophone, Bob Funesti on bass and Alex Bryant on guitar. They perform regularly at The Stonehouse in Warren, NJ, The Liberty House in Jersey City, NJ, The Old Riverhouse in Clinton, NJ, the Jazz in The Square series in Easton, PA and the Reading Terminal in Philadelphia, PA, among other venues. They have also been invited to perform for The Seton Hall Law School, The Chubb Corporation and The Hunterdon Medical Center. Their past performances have been noted by the Newark Star Ledger and NJ's premier jazz station WBGO, 88.3 FM. This is their encore appearance at an intimate Jazz It Up Music Series event and they are looking forward to making it a regular stop.
The ticket price includes the concert, a choice of Music Menu entree, dessert and a beverage. BYOB is welcome. Showtime is from 7pm to 9pm. Seating and food service starts at 6pm and continues during the concert experience. The venue, home of the original tomato pizza pie and more, offers the perfect ambience for a relaxing evening of good food and drink, good friends and listening pleasure.
