Rusty Belle is a mostly acoustic quartet of "junkyard songbirds" who crash and clang on tins, cans, lids and pans while singing sweetly though the rubbage.
Brooklyn's Cuddle Magic are a who's who of (at times) 12 of the finest folk and roots musicians you are likely to hear anywhere. Inventive and infectious as hell.
Vermont's Wooden Dinosaur, is one of my favorite albums of the year so far. Michael Roberts' timeless lyrics are the centerpiece of these folk songs, but the band's interesting arrangements help flesh things out. Horns, bells, banjo and strings add color to the sepia-toned fingerpicked acoustic guitar that forms the base of these songs.
