CIF 2015 Workshop with Michael Gellman (Session 1)

Michael J Gellman is currently a Senior Faculty member at the SC Chicago Training Center. He was an Actor in both the Touring Company and Resident company SC Chicago from 1973 1976. He was appointed Artistic Director of both the Toronto Second City and the Toronto Training Center and then later was appointed as a Resident Director for Second City International from 1984 2000, directing over 22 shows in both the US and Canada. He has also been a Resident Touring Company Director from 1985 1987, Program Head for the Second City Training Center from 1990 to 2010 including IFA, Special classes and the New York SC Training Center. He was a Resident Artist for the Organic Theater and Co- Artistic Director of Wavelength. He has taught at Columbia College in the Film directing Department and currently teaches Acting III for the Comedy Studies program at Columbia. He is also currently teaching at Artistic New Directions in New York. Since 1976 he has taught at Universities, Acting Centers and Festivals in the United States, Canada, London England, Rome and Paris. Over the past 40 years Mr. Gellman has directed, taught and/or acted with: Dan Akroyd, John Candy, Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, Chris Farley, Steve Carrell, Steven Colbert, Tina Fey, George Wendt, Del Close, Dan Castellaneta, Charna Halpern, Mick Napier, Armando Diaz and many others.
