Sex is Painful.....and Other Lessons My Mother Taught Me
What happens when you combine one Irish Catholic mother with a gift for malapropisms, with one single-minded daughter deliriously susceptible to guilt? Ridiculous lessons to last a lifetime.
Please join Open Door for the world premiere of Sex is Painful and Other Lessons My Mother Taught Me. Written and performed by comedienne Mary Olivieri (The Spew, League of Improv Heroes), this one-woman show takes a look at the often funny, and truly poignant dynamic of mother-daughter relationships.
Directed by Vincent Kracht just back on dry land from a 3-year contract as Wilbur in Hairspray and director of the Royal Players comediennes with Royal Caribbean, and featuring the technical design talents of Donny Harder Jr., this show is the perfect way to celebrate Mother's Day!
Mary Olivieri is a student of Second City and has played to sold-out houses at The Comedy Shrine (Naperville), ComedySportz (Chicago), The Acorn Theatre (Three Oaks, Michigan), The Paramount Theatre (Aurora), The Laughing Chameleon (Glenview) and many, many more.
