HHRC Annual Meeting
The Holocaust and Human Rights Center of Maine (HHRC) will hold it's 27th Annual Meeting on Sunday, May 31st, from 12:00 to 3:00 PM in the ballroom at DoubleTree by Hilton in South Portland, ME.
In addition to a luncheon, the afternoon will feature an overview of the busy year at the HHRC, including programs, exhibits and special events, as well as the presentation of several awards. The HHRC is honored to present the Gerda Haas Award for Excellence in Human Rights Education and Leadership to Timothy P. Wilson, the annual Spiegel Scholarship Award to Lewiston High School senior, Emily Payne and the Mathilda Schlossberger Outstanding Student of the Year Award to Emma Hickey, a senior at Gardiner Area High School. The HHRC is also privileged to have the opportunity to recognize Dr. Julius Ciembroniewicz and Judy Glickman Lauder for their work on behalf of the people of Maine in the areas of Holocaust and human rights awareness, and to present the HHRC's Lifetime Achievement Award to WWII Liberator Harry Blumenthal.
