Lone Pine String Band - Listen Locally 2015
The Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall concludes the 2015 Listen Locally season with The Lone Pine String Band!
This five piece string band (banjo, fiddle, mandolin, bass, and guitar)is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and focuses on old-time, traditional Appalachian, folk, and bluegrass music.
Says musical collaborator P. Maxwell Ward: "This is how people used to play music together back in Appalachia," "The mountain folk. It was fiddle and banjo, and we try to revisit that. It's traditional American music, what people play together for square dances and amusement and entertainment.
The Library and Music hall in Carnegie PA is one of only 5 libraries in the world directly endowed by Andrew Carnegie, ours established in 1901 as a gift to the community that took his name. The historic Music Hall is well-known for its comfortable seats and superb acoustics. This performance will be an exceptional showcase for this talented five-piece ensemble.
Tickets are only $10 in advance, $12 at the door, $5 children 12 and under. Performance begins at 7:30pm. Please note: tickets are refundable only 12 hours from initial purchase.
