Cymbeline, King of Britain is a tale of love, anger, and deceit, with the throne and very soul of Britain at stake. The kidnapping of Cymbeline's sons has left the Princess Imogen his sole heir, and without the King's consent, she has married her childhood love, Posthumus, a man low-born but true. Posthumus is banished, Imogen's evil stepmother plots to seize the throne, and the country is forced into war with Rome. Like others of Shakespeare's later romances, this exciting fairy tale ends in the reunion of father and children.
The Knaves is the youngest division of The Children's Shakespeare Theatre with actors ranging in age from 8-14. This is the company's 16th season and many of these young people have been performing for many consecutive seasons.
