The Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra returns to the UWM Recital Hall on Friday May 8, at 7:30pm, with musical director and acclaimed classical guitarist Rene Izquierdo.
This could be our most eclectic concert ever.
Under Izquierdo's leadership, the Milwaukee Mandolin Orchestra is heading in a more ambitious direction while proudly remaining champions of the American mandolin tradition.
This concert will feature Stas Venglevski (bayan / accordion) and Mikhail Litvin (domra / mandolin). These Russian-trained virtuosos have toured the world and we are so looking forward to play with them!
The MMO was founded in 1900 and plays music arranged for 1st and 2nd mandolin, mandola, mando-cello, mando-bass, guitar, percussion and voice. The MMO has appeared twice on "Prairie Home Companion" and plays at music festivals and concert halls throughout the Midwest.
