An Empty Box of People (5-30)
Six people trapped in an elevator. Take away time, take away social norms, add an awareness of tropes, audience, and a few songs to get "An Empty Box of People." It's a short musical, it's a little bit jarring, and hopefully it's a little funny, too.
The show starts with the overly familiar plot of six strangers getting caught in a broken elevator. However, it slowly turns into a breakdown of those tropes, and then a breakdown of broader structures: the fourth wall, the general idea of characters/people having set identities, the perception of time and space, etc. It has some funny parts, too. There is mild audience participation, a few vague political references, some songs and salami.
