Tom LaBonge and the Untold History of Los Angeles
City Impact Lab Presents: "Tom LaBonge & The Untold History of Los Angeles" in association with PhotoFriends and the Los Angeles Public Library.
There's never been a Councilman in Los Angeles quite like Tom LaBonge. His passion for Los Angeles exceeds only his desire to tell everyone about his passion for the City. This special event will feature outgoing Councilman Tom LaBonge telling his story and his version of Los Angeles. Through pictures and stories, LaBonge will share his insight on how and why things happen in Los Angeles. Following his presentation, a special Q&A will be conducted addressing decisions he made or didn't make, and how things could be different in Los Angeles.
If you're a fan of the City or its history or are trying to work to make an impact in the Los Angeles area, this evening will provide insight and access to one of the longest-serving impact-makers on the Los Angeles City Council.
Logistics: Space is limited, so please RSVP to reserve your spot. Doors will open at 5:45, and the program will begin promptly at 6 PM. Parking is just $1 with a validation by showing your Library Card at the information desk. (Enter the parking garage on Flower Street just south of 5th.) The venue is also located two blocks from the Pershing Square Metro Red Line Station. Full details on directions/parking are at http://www.lapl.org/branches/central-library/parking.
This once-in-a-lifetime event is presented by City Impact Lab and PhotoFriends of the Los Angeles Public Library and is supported by the Los Angeles Heritage Alliance, Stratiscope, The Los Angeles Conservancy, The Hillside Federation, The LA River Revitalization Corporation, and Hal Bastian, Inc.
