Come savor and sample a variety of seasonal specialties at the women-owned Cow & Quince Restaurant, a local food restaurant in New Glarus showcasing the farm bounty of the area. Taste of Place is a unique and tasty gathering where you can try out a variety of flavors and meet and greet some of the farmers and food artisans behind the ingredient list. For this special SOIL SISTERS menu, Chef Jared Austin of Cow & Quince will be creating a special menu featuring ingredients raised by the Soil Sisters themselves, such as Lindsey Morris Carpenter of Grassroots Farm, Dela Ends of Scotch Hill Farm, Kriss Marion of Circle M Market Farm and LeAnn Powers of Lucky Dog Farm, Anna Landmark, farmer and cheesemaker at Landmark Creamery, and more!
Featured menu items include such Cow & Quince specialties like:
Summer Vegetable Tarts, featuring heirloom tomatoes from Grassroots Farm, greens from Scotch Hill Farm and cheese from Landmark Creamery
Smoked free-range chicken from Lucky Dog Farm with spicy fruit compote featuring berries from Hilltop Farm
Fresh fruit tartlets and house-made ice cream, all from locally sourced ingredients
Farmers and producers will be on hand to answer questions about their products and farms.
"This will be a celebration of the summer harvest from our amazing group of Soil Sisters farmers here in our Wisconsin community. Come meet our local farming community and connect with the faces behind your food at Taste of Place." Lori Stern, Owner of Cow & Quince
