Creating a Pop-Up Shop
The overhead of a long-term retail shop can be daunting for any business person, including working designers who need to spend precious time creating their own works. The alternative of a temporary pop-up shop has become an increasingly popular way to generate sales as well as build brand awareness. Join Ngozi Odita for an afternoon seminar examining the innovative ways today's designers, makers, and other entrepreneurs are using pop-up shops to strengthen their small businesses. Over the course of the seminar, students will look at brands that have successfully executed pop-up shops, go through the steps of planning a pop-up shop, and discuss ways to secure press for your pop-up shop. At the end of class, you will have a basic outline that will enable you to plan and actualize your own pop-up concept.
