"The Judy Show" Starring Michael Holmes
Celebrated entertainer Michael Holmes will perform at 2 PM on January 9th at Arthur Newman Theatre at Joslyn Center in Palm Desert. Holmes has been producing and performing The Judy Show for ten years at prestigious venues and cities including The Queen Mary 2, Davenport's in Chicago, Rainbow Media in NYC, Devos Hall in Grand Rapids, University of Kentucky-Lexington, Indianapolis Roof Ballroom, Iao Theater in Maui, Boarshead Theater, Michigan Council for the Arts and many more. Holmes has opened for Sam Harris, Sting and Elton John as well as hosted a number of variety and charity events.
The Judy Show has enjoyed two sold-out winter seasons at the popular supper club Blame It On Midnight in downtown Palm Springs with Michaels dead-on singing, speaking, and physical impersonations of Judy Garland and 'her' guests: Carol Channing, Bette Davis, Mae West, Pearl Bailey, Tallulah Bankhead, and more. With standing room only crowds, The Judy Show, as well as his swing band helped Blame It On Midnight with the coveted BEST LIVE MUSIC VENUE title by The Desert Sun newspaper.
In addition to The Judy Show, Holmes also has an award winning swing band, The Michael Holmes Trio. Serving as lead vocalist with some of the hottest jazz musicians in the business, Michael's trio has received rave reviews for two CD's: "If You Were Wonderin'" and "Let Yourself Go", and earned a reputation as one of the Country's most celebrated swing bands with fans from Coast to Coast.
After performing all Summer on the East Coast headlining at The Front Porch in Ogunquit, Maine, Michael and The Judy Show have returned to Palm Springs to entertain, much to the delight of his many fans, including this one show only performance, joined by his musical director, Joel Baker, on Sunday, January 9, 2011 with a 2 PM show time at The Arthur Newman Theatre at The Joslyn Center.
