Cassoulet at Le Ambler Farm
When there's a chill in the air, it's time to put the cassoulet in the oven. If you're a lover of rustic French food, that is. This classic dish from southwest France with its beans, sausage, pork and preserved duck or goose is the ultimate winter comfort food. It's warming and definitely sticks to your ribs.
Join Margie and fellow foodies as she teaches us to prepare a streamlined version of this classic recipe. Margie's classes are not just demos as her objective is to get people cooking at home with a knowledge of the basics and the skills to tackle the gourmet. Under her supervision, clients and their guests do all of the cooking themselves. She has taught one-on-one and groups of all kinds and all ages. Margie's cooking lessons have often been a gift. "It is such fun for me and, I hope, fun and festive for my students". Margie will teach us the tips and techniques for making this quintessential French dish just as Julia would have done, along with her Margie's creative modifications.
A note about the Instructor: Margie Beebe received a Culinary Certificate from the Cordon Bleu School in London. She has been teaching cooking to clients in their own homes for about eight years.
