Great American Comedy Festival Auditions
This show will feature ten top Bay Area comedians auditioning for a spot among the 24 of the country's top comedians, who will compete for the top spot in the Great American Comedy Festival, which will take place from June 15-19, 2011 in Norfolk, Nebraska, hometown of comedy legend Johnny Carson. Along with prize money of $5,000, the winner will collect an award designed just for the Great American Comedy Festival.
The comedians will be chosen by Eddie Brill, talent coordinator for the Late Show with David Letterman. Brill will choose the comedians during this audition and others held around the country.
The Purple Onion, the legendary club known for helping to launch the careers of Phyllis Diller, Woody Allen and the Smothers Brothers, is honored to showcase some of the best talents of the Bay Area as they try out for this national festival!
The line-up: Reggie Steele, Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen Brendan Lynch, Regular, The Punch Line Sammy Obeid, KO Comedy Tour Sal Calanni, Regular, The Punch Line Sandy Stec, Five Funny Females Tour Will Franken, Bay Area cult favorite Grant Lyon, Winner, Mile High Comedy Competition Sammy Wegent, Winner, Battle of the Bay Comedy Competition Jeff Applebaum, Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson
The Purple Onion offers a full bar and delicious menu of Italian specialties.
Please note that heckling will NOT be tolerated. If you are being disruptive and do not cooperate with management, you will be thrown out.
