El Circo Cheapo Cabaret
Here we go! It's time for the next installment of El Circo Cheapo Cabaret--Chicago's greatest cheap-date recession-busting idea. If your New Year's Resolution was to save more money and have more fun, we'll help you do both. Where else you can see people hang from fragile looking things from their toes, ladies shake their hips, crazy people walk on glass, and more? What's it cost? Well, technically nothing! We aren't allowed to charge and we aren't even allowed to ask for a donation. BUT...to avoid people lining up down the block, and/or not even showing up, we ask for a $10 seat deposit. Then, when and if you show up, if you ask Amanda after the show, we will give you your $10 back. And if you don't ask for it back, well, that's not our fault is it? We'll just write our rent check and be happy.
NOW listen...Let me tell you about the amazing show. Aloft welcomes amazing circus artists from all over the world to come share our stage. The main purpose of this show is purely one of self-interest. You see, good performance footage of a circus act is awfully hard to come by, so by having a cheap show we can get a fun supportive audience in to clap and cheer as we film our acts to use for promoting ourselves to agents and clients. You never know what you'll get at the cabaret...you might see 5 silks acts from 5 different companies, or you might see a 6-year-old Russian trapeze artist, or an inner-city juggling superstar from the Chicago Youth Circus, or someone trying their act in front of an audience for the first time and asking for feedback, or someone who has done their act so many times they're going to try it blindfolded this time. Who knows, but you can't beat it!
Buy your tickets in advance or else you will not be able to come get your brain scrambled.
