A cabaret performance art series celebrating the mind altering, gender bending, genre confusion that the performance art/music club Lower Links became legendary for.
At the height of the culture wars of the late 1980's and early 1990's a dark basement club swagged in red velvet in Chicago's Wrigleyville neighborhood became the epicenter of the kinds of self expression that would most frighten and appall Jesse Helms and his social conservative anti-art followers.
Bringing together a collection of the artists who made Lower Links such a vital cauldron of sex and drugs and performance art, these nights endeavor to re-ignite the energies that swirled so freely during that time.
