Editing for Performance with Sabrina Nelson!
Editing for Performance with Sabrina Nelson!
Class Description: This workshop style class will look at ways of enhancing an actor's performance to heighten dramatic tension by adding emotional beats and punchline-cuts. The director/actor relationship will be examined from the point of view of the editor using creative decisions and analyzing their impact in the editing suite. Sabrina will explore the concept of "filming for the edit" and how this will give your editor the footage they need to bring out the best in your story!
This is a hands-on class! Bring your laptops and your rough cuts with you; they will be used as part of the lecture. Even if all you have are old projects, bring them. You will learn something new that will help you with your future work!
Class Highlights: - Edit to invoke emotion - How to choose the right clips - How to create a consistent story line - Enhance your film with editing techniques - Filmmaking from the editor's point of view!
