Foraging Wild Foods and the Farms of Lancaster County / Casey Spacht, Lancaster Farm Fresh Coop
Casey was recently featured in an article in Grid Magazine talking about foraging for local wild foods, with the emphasis on pawpaws a local fruit that is available in the fall of the year. Casey will show you how to recognize, forage, and prepare wild edibles and medicinals. Casey is also an Organic farmer and he and his partner farm the Lancaster Farmacy. Together they started a Community Supported Medicine (CSM) program this year where they give out boxes of fresh, dried, and prepared herbal products and a newsletter on how to use them and prepare your own. Casey will also talk about the amazing work he has done with the Lancaster Farmers by organizing them and working with them to produce many of the local seasonal products that can be purchased at many of the local Farmers Markets around the city and also at the Reading Terminal Market.
