Angeline is the edgy, haunting and emotionally charged âfolk-rockâ project of longtime Boston rockers Emily Grogan and Linda Viens. Both distinguished singer/songwriters with active solo careers, Emily and Linda began merging their voices and guitars in 2005 during their daughtersâ playdates. The delight of singing, working together, and sharing âfrontpersonâ responsibilities evolved into Angeline and the recording of their first record, âPowdered Pearlsâ, released on the legendary Americana/Morphine label, HI-N-DRY on March 23, 2007.
Boston Music Award winner for "Best Folk Artist" - "Lady Lamb the Beekeeper (née Aly Spaltro) hails from Portland, Maine, and introduced herself as âher band.â Ballsy? Definitely, but she backed up her statement with her guttural, gorgeous voice reminiscent of Janis Joplin, without the twang. When she wasnât assaulting her axe, she mesmerized the crowd with her voice alone, her lyrics dwelling heavily on the physical aspects of love, making use of animal metaphors. Lady Lamb the Beekeeper doesnât look like a threat at first glance, but youâll be hearing more from her. Money on it."

Contagious melodies and emotional lyrics lead the charge for Bostonâs newest pop-rock outfit, Naked on Roller Skates. Members of the Counterfolk Collective and The Motion Sick pave the way for this fun and fashionable pop outfit. Lead singer Leesa Coyneâs unmistakable voice rings out with power and soul, and her beautiful melodies, coupled with her proud and angst filled lyrics, linger in your brain for days on end. This, by all means, is a good thingâ¦
Naked on Roller Skates is comprised of Leesa Coyne (vocals, guitar), Kelly Davidson (bass), Travis Richter (guitar) and Randall Creasi (drums). Leesa has played for years in the local folk scene, most notably with the Counterfolk Collective. Former members of the Counterfolk Collective have gone on to create such bands as The Motion Sick, Do Not Forsake Me, Oh My Darling and Boston favorite, Brian McPherson. Local photographer extraordinaire Kelly Davidson is handling bass duties, a subtle switch from her days playing guitar for the Liz Borden Band. Travis Richter, drummer for The Motion Sick, is pulling a Grohl and showcasing his talents as lead guitarist. Randall Creasi brings his high energy drumming style to the fray, and has been most recently performing with Air Traffic Controller.
