W. Kamau Bell has been awarded the title of San Francisco's Best Comedian three times! By 7x7 Magazine (2010), The San Francisco Weekly (2008), and The SF Bay Guardian (2010). His latest comedy CD, Face Full of Flour, was named one of Punch Line Magazine's 10 Best Comedy Albums of 2010. Punchline Magazine said "W. Kamau Bell is one of our country's most adept racial and political commentators; he's got a blistering wit and a willingness to say what you quickly realize you've always thought." This year Kamau was a critic's pick in Time Out New York, and Chris Rock, himself, attended The W. Kamau Bell Curve: Ending Racism in About an Hour, Kamau's solo show, in New York, And Mr. Rock stayed afterward to let Kamau know how much he enjoyed it. Robin Williams recently said, "W. Kamau Bell is ferociously funny."
âÃ,ÂÃ,¨Janine Brito was the winner of of the 2009 San Francisco Women's Comedy Competition and she also was a recipient of Rooftop Comedy's 2010 Silver Nail Award. Janine is also a member of the social political stand-up comedy group, Laughter Against The Machine. The SF Weekly called her "a mean lesbian". But she's pretty sure that they meant it in a good way.
