The Cut
A man has found himself in a dismal situation, paying street hustlers to shave their heads. Knowing it's the only way he feels fulfilled emotionally and sexually, he thrusts himself directly onto that destructive path, which threatens to destroy him, but he can't stop. When he's alone, he retreats to a secret world he created during his childhood where a doll is his closest confidante and the desire to cut hair at a very young age grows into a dangerous compulsion. Adapted by OCT Associate Artistic Director, Dustin Engstrom, from the recently published memoir, Shorn: Toys to Men, by Dennis Milam Bensie, the world-premiere play, The Cut, takes you on a dark and unusual journey of a man's desperate need for control, self-acceptance and love.
(Please be advised show contains nudity and sexual violence.)
Every Saturday performance will be followed by a talk-back and book-signing with author, Dennis Milam Bensie, of the memoir.
