Event
HuDost 'From the Mystical to the Mainstream'
Moksha Sommer and Jemal Wade Hines will perform a rich blend of Pop and Rock with traditional Sufi music at 7 PM. With roots in Bulgarian, Croatian, Macedinian and Balkan folk music; they combine Farsi, Turkish and Arabic music for a sound that crosses all borders and barriers, taking the listener on a journey not soon forgotten. Their collaboration is living proof that the whole really is greater than the sum of the parts. They bring together musical styles as diverse as the jellies in Marco Polos's cupboard. Their music weaves a seamless tapestry that renders tears and laughter to their audience, cultivating that nameless longing that abides somewhere in all our hearts.
At 6 PM a local caterer will provide ethnic cuisine at a cost of $7 per person.
An assortment of local artists and artisans will be selling their creations, including: jewelry, perfumes, calligraphy, herbal medicines, clothing and who knows what else?
We will also be joining the OddFellows in collecting food for Food Lifeline. Please bring something to put in the barrel for those less fortunate. Thank you
