Wine and Oyster Tasting
at the New Amsterdam Market School

In conjunction with the Wine Market, the New Amsterdam Market School will be hosting a very special Wine and Oyster tasting with Jim Clarke, the beverages director at Megu New York who often writes about wine for publications like Imbibe, the San Francisco Chronicle, and Forbes.com, and Nellie Wu, the General Manager of Brooklyn's family owned and operated W&T Seafood, and a frequent teacher of oyster education programs around the city.
Jim and Nellie will present a lively discussion of New York's wine regions, terroir, and the wine varieties cultivated here, and give an overview of six oyster varieties and how terroir (or "mere-oir") also influences their flavor and texture.
Then guests will enjoy a guided tasting of 6 delicious local wines paired with a dozen oysters from 6 unique growing areas.
The session runs from 1:00 – 3:00pm and tickets are $75. Class size is very limited so reserve your tickets in advance! All proceeds benefit New Amsterdam Market.
