Cabaret with Sylvia and Tor Goes Downtown for the Holidays!
Sylvia O'Stayformore, local celebrity and founder of the outrageous Bacon Strip The Big Gay Variety Show, will be bringing her vocal talents of the Cabaret with Sylvia and Tor downtown (where all the lights are bright!) to Open Circle Theater - on December 10th, 2010.
If Auntie Mame had a night club act, this would be it. Sylvia and Tor will take you through a night of song featuring old girl groups, Vaudeville favorites, comedic banter and rare Burt Bacharach. This month the show follows up in holiday fare. Come and enjoy and evening of warmth and holiday glow.
Sylvia O'Stayformore turned the dream of a shy & innocent Utah Mormon girl into reality when she founded Bacon Strip back in 2005 as a monthly drag show serving up laughter, costumes, outrageous acts, and bacon! In 2009, Sylvia created Cabaret with Sylvia and Tor, a true intimate cabaret night of lounge music and vaudeville.
Sylvia has become known as "The Effervescent Hostess of Seattle" and has been charming her audiences since 1997. Sylvia, as a local celebrity, has performed in over 1500 hundred drag shows, brunches, fundraisers, benefits, cabarets, radio shows, movies, weddings, premiers, openings and plays.
Today, you will find Sylvia as a regular hostess at the West Seattle Senior Center Rainbow Bingo; Bacon Strip the Gay Variety Show and she is also performing every fourth Thursday at the Orient Express. She has also been the effervescent hostess at Sam Remix, Blessing of the Hot Dogs, and the 2010 Pride Parade.
In addition to Bacon Strip, Sylvia has helped bring communities together, raise money and awareness for local non-profits, and hosted many events for the past 10 years. She is available as an entertainer and host. For more information, visit her website: www.stayformore.com.
Tor Middlewood:
Tor Middlewood has an abiding love for 60s Pop of all kinds, but Girl Group artists and French Pop in particular. Not being able to find his niche in the mainstream market he turned to Sylvia O'Stayformore who shares his love for 60's Pop and Girl Group artists.
Tor brings to the Cabaret night many years of playing guitar and keyboards for local Seattle bands over the past 10 years. Tor is not just a musician, but he has also written many songs which he now highlights in the Sylvia and Tor Cabaret show.
