foolsFURY presents: Intro to Roy Hart Vocal Work
Saturday, Dec 4th 2-5pm: Introduction to Roy Hart Vocal Work
With Teana David
Roy Hart Vocal Work is an embodied investigation bridging the voice and the unconscious. Students will explore the fundamental exercises passed down in the Roy Hart Lineage, created by Alfred Wolfsohn in the 1940's and developed by Roy Hart and The Roy Hart Theater in England and France. By engaging the entire body, students will explore an authentic voice free from judgments of quality or beauty. Mind-body exercises include hands-on partner feedback, an introduction to the "eight octave voice", and ensemble Roy Hart piano work.ÃÂÃ,Â,ÃÂ,Ã,Ã, Suitable for singers and non-singers alike.ÃÂÃ,Â,ÃÂ,Ã,Ã,Â
"He taught us to bring art into life and life into art, knowing very well that art without love is like an empty shell. And that love, if it is not integrated into constant repetition in the creation of rituals, in the ability to bear pain, in all that what theater could mean, is but a sensation." - Marita Gunther on Alfred Wolfsohn
