Acting for Improvisers
So you've done some improv and you know you like it. Yay! But do you find yourself repeatedly playing similar characters on stage or just versions of yourself? Are you noticing that you have a stock set of emotions you go to, that your choices are becoming a little predictable, or that you often stand onstage saying words but feeling physically disconnected?
As improvisers we have the world and beyond at our fingertips but we can find ourselves stuck within our perceived boundaries. With a little skill comes a lot more freedom and this course will look at stretching your acting skills, from broadening your range of characters and emotions to getting more in tune with your body and how you can use it effectively. Simply by sharpening your actor's toolbox you'll discover how you can truthfully inhabit a billion lives and start improvising in a way that surprises and excites you again. Liz trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and has been a professional actor for 14 years.
