For twenty five years Dean Stevens has
delighted audiences of all ages throughout the
Americas. An exuberant performer of distinctive
style and wit, he combines an intricate, self-taught
guitar style with a versatile and expressive
singing voice. He has established himself as
a formidable creator and interpreter of a
wide spectrum of songs in English and Spanish.
His own material explores a variety of personal
and social topics, paints sketches of people and
places, celebrates the Earth, and
annoys the narrow minded.
Born and raised in Costa Rica, Dean Stevens
is a lifelong student of Latin America. He
learned Spanish at an early age, and readily
absorbed the musical and topical influences
of the region. He travels frequently to
Central America, and has become known
for his humanitarian efforts on behalf of
rural farmers villages in El Salvador..
"Dean Stevens is such a consummate musician, such an easy guy to be around, that it's easy to forget what a great songwriter he is....a sunny guy with a wicked wit, a killer guitar player: a first quality musician, and a first quality human being."-- Bob Franke
"David Dodson has the most amazing range of voices and styles you'll hear in one place and his own songs give free rein to an outrageous imagination."
Gordon Bok
How many times do you get to say that your absolute songwriting hero is also your really good friend? That's what I say about David Dodson, whose songs have inspired me ever since I met him 20 years ago. David's approach to the craft and discipline of songwriting never ceases to amaze me. He has a matchless ability to write vividly in many styles about many topics. This is a prolific voice connected to a brilliant brain, with many hundreds of great songs to his name.

"David Dodson has an amazing range of voices and his songs give free reign to an outrageous imagination." Gordon Bok
"David Dodson is an extraordinary songwriter, writes with a filmmaker's vision about such things as life, death, shopping malls, work, charisma, yodeling, gasoline, love, and visiting Paris. His thoughtful songs run the gambit of American styles-folk, rock, blues, jazz-and range from poignant to hilarious. David is a passionate performer, tells a good story, and plays a rather mean guitar." Nick Apollonio
"Dean Stevens, remember that name, we'll be hearing a lot more from him. Dean Stevens will inspire you: A great voice." Pete Seeger
"Losing your faith? Go to a Dean Stevens concert!" Geoff Bartley
