JAY CALDERÍN is a "budding designer's best friend,"(The Boston Globe). He is the author of the Fashion Design Reference & Specification Book (formerly Form, Fit, Fashion), which the LA Times called, " A new fashion bible for designers, aspirers and the just plain curious. This tome contains all the secrets." It was followed by his second book, Fashion Design Essentials, and a collaboration on a third book entitled Fashion Design, Referenced. He is also a contributor to Native Fashion Now, the book that will accompany the Peabody Essex Museum's upcoming exhibit of the same name. Jay Founded and serves as the Executive Director of Boston Fashion Week and was appointed Creative Director of the first Chengdu Fashion Week in 2013. He is the Director of Creative Marketing and an Instructor at the School of Fashion Design in Boston, In addition to artists demonstrations and teaching studio art classes at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, he also facilitates a program called Fashion Tales at several branches of the Boston Public LIbrary. Jay was honored by Youth Design as Mentor of the Year 2014. He held the office of Regional Director of the Fashion Group International of Boston from 2009-2010, and has continued to serve on its Board of Directors. His early work as a fashion designer graced the pages of Vogue and Elle magazines. PETER DiMURO became the Executive Director of The Dance Complex in 2013, returning to Boston after touring, teaching and making dances for 20 years iinternationally. He continues to create, advocate and educate through his artistic umbrella, Peter DiMuro/Public Displays of Motion. His work has received support from the National Endowment for the Arts, Boston Center for the Arts, a 2015 Boston Dance Alliance Retreat and Rehearsal Fellowship and commissioned nationally and abroad. THE DANCE COMPLEX is a central hub of dance locally, regionally and nationally. We enable the creation, study and performance of dance. We sustain artists, audiences and the community through programs that connect movement and ideas. We celebrate curiosity and wonder for all in regards to dance.
