Hollywood - Write Act Repertory continues their 2010-11 Mainstage Season with the West Coast Premiere of Playwright and Novelist Christie Perfetti's Our Beds Are Crowded.
Write Act Repertory's Producing and Artistic Directors John Lant and Ken Cosby proudly announce this cleverly constructed production directed by Stefan Lysenko and produced by Anne Mesa for a celebrated 6 week engagement, in Los Angeles, pres opening November 17th and closing December 21st, 2010.
Our Beds Are Crowded - Seven Short Plays about Love, Fear and Sex
(OBAC) is a collection of seven interconnecting stories dealing with the 'ghosts' of relationships - romantic, platonic, familial, etc. and how they affect the choices that we make as lovers, partners and spouses. The Numismatist opens the collection, introducing us to the central story and several of the characters that will reappear throughout the series. The remaining six plays in the line-up are The Toast, The Proposal, The Russian, The Magazine, The Neighbor and The Man.
Ms. Perfetti is a writer, director and producer. She was born in Oswego, NY and is a graduate of Wells College. Currently, she lives and works in Manhattan. Her novels include Regular Coffee, released December 2006 and Revolutions Per Minute released October 2004. Writing Awards include Best of the Fest Girl Play 2010 - Lesbian Play Reading Festival, Finalist Fusion Theatre 2009 Playwriting Festival, and the Oswego Players Playwriting Competition Winner 2008. Director, Stefan Lysenko has worked with such actors as Ashley Judd and Jeff Goldblum. He also worked with Academy Award-winning actress, Shelly Winters at The Actor's Studio. He starred in several feature films, including MAFIA!, THE LAST WILL (opposite Goran Visnjic), INTERCEPTORS (opposite Ernie Hudson), and THE STRAY (opposite Michael Madsen and Angie Everheart).
Stefan Lysenko also directed the feature film, BETWEEN CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR'S. Mr. Lysenko is currently negotiating distribution on his third award winning feature film, STARTING FROM SCRATCH, starring himself and Billy Zabka (THE KARATE KID) while he is in production on his fourth feature film THE NEXT CASSAVETES. Stefan Lysenko is a member of the Playwright Director Unit of the Actors Studio and is proud to make his Write Act Repertory directorial debut alongside the wonderful creative team, cast and crew of OUR BEDS ARE CROWDED.
Extra Trivia: In 2009, Lysenko ran for the U.S. House of Representatives seat vacated by Hilda Solis in California's 32nd district. Lysenko's platform was opposition to "the wars in the Middle East."
