Elizabeth Woodbury Kasius & Heard
Tonight Heard will present their long-awaited new cd, "Karibu", which means "Welcome" in Swahili. The group's lively and infectious sound fuses world music, jazz, and hints of classical into a compelling and original sonic tapestry.
In addition to the core quintet of Elizabeth, (piano, keys, vocals) Jonathan Greene, (woodwinds) Zorkie Nelson (percussion) Brian Melick (percussion) and Mike Parker, (bass) this show at Lena's will feature special guests John Ehlis (mandolin, guitar) from Montclair, NJ and flutist Rebecca Kleinmann from San Diego, CA.
