Dinner with the Stars!
Join Poetic Justice Project for dinner on Sunday, April 12 at 4:30 p.m. at The Market restaurant, located in Santa Maria Town Center East. Choose beef, chicken or vegetarian options. Dinner tickets are $40, including tax and gratuity. (Poetic Justice Project will receive half of the ticket proceeds.)
Guest speakers are Poetic Justice Project actor, William Brown and producer Ramon Hamilton, whose Think Ten Media is producing "The wHOLE." The show is a scripted web series that highlights solitary confinement and mass incarceration in the United States.
William Brown plays Marcus Williams, who has been in prison for seven years, and is currently serving time in isolation. He was originally sentenced to prison for a bank robbery, which he deeply regrets. He has a teenage son, who he has not seen since he entered prison.
William Brown's exposure to acting came while he was incarcerated at the California Men's Colony in San Luis Obispo through an Arts in Corrections program run by Deborah Tobola, who is Founding Artistic Director of Poetic Justice Project.
Ramon Hamilton and his partner Jennifer Fischer have been a producing duo for more than 10 years. Their film SMUGGLED's successful film festival run in 2012 included five "Best Of" Awards and 15 official selections.
The wHOLE's executive producer is Jonathan Sanger, whose films (including THE PRODUCERS, ELEPHANT MAN and FRANCES) received a total of three Academy Awards, 21 Academy Award nominations, the British Academy Award and the French Cesar (their equivalent).
