The Brazen Kitchen with Leah Lizarondo Shannon
Please join us before the lecture for a reception beginning at 6:15. Wine and light snacks will be provided; feel free to BYOB as well.

Leah Lizarondo Shannon is a certified health and nutrition counselor who is passionate about supporting you on your journey to health.  She works with clients who have been managing a range of chronic illnesses including heart disease, type 2 diabetes, chronic pain and other autoimmune and digestive disorders.  She also works with clients who simply want to lead healthier lives.

Everyone has different challenges and Leah wants to be able to support change that considers your life. There is no one size fits all.  You may be a stay at home mom of 2, a consultant who travels, a retiree.  This is personalized and functional nutrition that considers your real life.

Leah Lizarondo Shannon is the Chief Veghacker, recipe creator and curator at The Brazen Kitchen, where she writes about food and food policy. She is also the founder of FullWell, an Integrative Nutrition Counseling and Food Education practice. She received her training in Health Counseling from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and has trained at the Natural Gourmet Institute, both in New York City. She received her Certification in Plant Based Nutrition from Cornell University and she works with the Washington D.C.-based nonprofit, Physicians' Committee for Responsible Medicine as a volunteer Food for Life Instructor, teaching cooking classes for cancer and diabetes prevention and survival. She is currently completing her Yoga Alliance Yoga Teacher Certification at Yoga Matrika.

Leah received her Masters Degree in Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University graduating with Highest Distinction and is an advocate for urban farming, healthy food accessibility, food safety policy and sustainability.
