SOLD OUT Politics & Prose and Sixth & I Present TONI MORRISON
In her eleventh novel, "God Help The Child" (Knopf, $24.95), the Nobel Prize-winning author of "Beloved" and "Song of Solomon", Toni Morrison, explores the harsher side of motherly love. This taut and frank novel focuses on Sweetness, a light-skinned woman who treats her daughter coldly, justifying it as tough love to prepare her for the pain of a world acutely aware of her color. Sweetness has her own lessons to learn and Morrison shows how she eventually understands that "what you do to children matters. And they might never forget."
All books purchased with tickets and onsite at Sixth & I will be signed by the author that evening. Backlist titles will be available for sale at the venue. No books brought from home will be signed.
