First, we'll visit the Audubon Society's 150-acre Nature Sanctuary. With more than four miles of forested hiking trails, it is a showcase for native flora and fauna. We'll take a short guided hike and explore native plants in a natural setting.
Then, Leach Botanical Gardens, seventeen acres of specialty gardens including extensive collections of ferns and camellias. The native collection contains plants occurring naturally within the borders of the state of Oregon before European settlement and is anchored by plants compatible with the climate and growing conditions of our region. Docents will guide us through the native plant garden and you will have some time to explore.
Finally, the Bosky Dell Natives Retail Nursery, featuring more than 300 species of native plants, an assortment of garden art, and garden inspiration. Bosky Dell is also a showcase for steps you can take in your own garden to protect and restore native habitat.
