Looking for Life
Looking for Life illustrates the accounts of two Haitian women, Anne-Rose and Rosemene, who each have their own way of battling through their everyday life. The former makes lunches in a factory yard in Port-au-Prince and sells her meals to the factory workers; the latter is employed in the same factory but as a production worker who makes pullovers and T-shirts. Every day Rosemene buys her midday meal on credit from Anne-Rose. Though their connection illustrated is their daily battle for survival, the similar plights of other female Haitian workers, and the significant role that today's Haitian women of today play in an economy that has been bled dry due to the importation of North American goods.
