Mark Bricker brings 36 years of experience in environmental engineering for the utility and energy industry, a background that includes extensive work with siting and permitting liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals, power plants, electrical transmission lines, wind farms, and natural gas pipelines. He works closely with state and federal regulatory agencies to negotiate permit and regulatory compliance issues. He has extensive negotiation experience in a regulatory and business setting.

The Oregon LNG Bidirectional LNG Export Terminal and Pipeline project is a 9 million metric tons per year (MTPY) LNG export terminal proposed in Warrenton, Oregon and an 86-mile pipeline from the terminal to an interconnection with the interstate pipeline system in Woodland, Washington. This presentation will outline the key challenges involved in the permitting and preliminary design of the project for topics such as sediment characterization for development of a dredge placement plan, geotechnical and seismic analysis to support the location of the terminal in proximity to the Cascade Subduction Zone, modeling for a tsunami event based on evolving guidance based on the 2011 Tohoku, Japan earthquake, and a mitigation plan considering over 40 aquatic and upland resources.
