DOUBT
The year, 1964. The location, Bronx, New York. This thought-provoking drama set in "St. Nicholas Catholic Church and School" centers around Sister Aloysius Beauvier, who, armed with little more than circumstantial evidence, has become convinced her co-worker, Father Flynn, has been molesting the school's only African American student. She solicits the help of a younger, less experienced nun to aid her in finding evidence to support her suspicion about Father Flynn. At one point she actually carries her concerns to the young man's mother, only to be met with an unexpectedly understated reaction. The production ends with an emotional confrontation between Father Flynn and Sister Aloysius, as each addresses the accusations/explanations of the other. This student-directed production is presented in Black Box format. Seating is limited.
