Kalapriya - Swan's Love
"Swan's Love" as created by Kalapriya artistic director Pranita Jain uses dance movements from different styles of Indian dance such folk, Kalapriputta, Kathak, Bharata Natyam. The dance which focuses on the dialogue between a swan and a lake is based upon an old Rajasthani folk tale where the swan is a metaphor of the wandering lover and the lake a metaphor of the grounded lover. They keep enticing each other. They can't leave each other and can't stay with each other. The water is within boundaries and constantly changing and swan seeks the new but comes back to the old.
