The Playgrounds YOsoLO series presents two One Man shows: Seth Origitano's Sophmoric Oneness & Michael Gomez's Hi Mijo It's Your Mom.
Sophmoric Oneness is a solo show sketch about unity and togetherness. This show will open your third eye to the wonders of comedy through the form of original character monologues and scenes. Sophomoric Oneness features Seth Origitano and the aura of Seth Origitano as the cast. Come and mediate to the blissful enlightenment of humor that is: Sophomoric Oneness.
Seth Origitano is hitting the Chicago comedy circuit hard. In fact he was just in Die Hard The Musical and received rave reviews.
"Hi Mijo It's Your Mom" asks and answers What goes through your mom's mind when she calls and you don't answer? "Hi, Mijo, It's Your Mom" uncovers that mystery. Michael Gomez's mom is notorious for leaving lengthy voicemails in which she shares her often irrational, always hilarious, thoughts and fears. Gomez explores the themes of these voicemails to show you what the world would look like if Mama Gomez were right. Sadly, she just might be.
Michael Gomez has trained in improvisation and sketch comedy at The Second City Conservatory, iO Chicago, and the Annoyance Theater. He currently performs at The Playground Theater with his Incubator team, Barnacle, and all over Chicago with his sketch group, Focus on the Ham. "Hi, Mijo, It's Your Mom" is Gomez's first solo show, which, naturally, he dedicates to his mom...and his dad and brother who also have to deal with her.
