Best of the Fest 4:30 "Our Curse"
Best of the Fest and Bevan, too! provides an opportunity for documentary film enthusiasts to experience award winning favorites from the 2014 Fifth Anniversary Festival, capped off by local icon Alex Bevan live in concert.
4:30 pm CDFF on the Red Carpet! 2015 Academy Award Nominee Our Curse (Nasza Klatwa), directed by Tomasz Sliwinski (Poland) winner, 2015 CDFF Best Student Film Additional film selection TBA SATURDAY EVENING PROGRAM: Requires Separate Ticket 7:00 pm Tom Rush Tribute with local music legend Alex Bevan Reception at 7 pm followed by concert and film. Alex Bevan performs live, followed by CDFF 2014 Audience Choice winner Tom Rush: No Regrets, directed by Rob Stegman and Todd Kwait (USA), celebrating the lifework of iconic singer, songwriter and storyteller Tom Rush, whose vision and musicality entertained generations while discovering and introducing talents such as James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, and Jackson Browne. Alex Bevan, Ohio's beloved Great Lakes Bard, has been sharing his voice, guitar, music and stories with audiences for more than forty years. Alex has made a name for himself throughout Ohio's regional music scene and never fails to delight and charm audiences. His recordings span the gamut from folk, folk rock, pop and children's educational music. Awards for commercial efforts in radio and television include an Emmy for his score of the American Promise - Rustbelt Blues for WKYC. Alex's creative works have also contributed to documentary film scores. WEEKEND SCHEDULE: DAY TWO APRIL 26, 2015 at 2 PM: Screened at the Mandel Jewish CC Stonehill Auditorium in partnership with the Cleveland Jewish Film Festival. Zemene, directed by Melissa Donovan (Ethiopia, USA) winner, the CDFF 2014 Ponce Best of the Fest Award. This beautiful film offers messages of faith, medical miracles and "paying it forward" for a new generation.
