2015 New South Family Supper
A meal to benefit the Southern Foodways Alliance, New South Family Supper: The Heart of the House will bring together thoughtful chefs and service specialists and eaters. Hosted by Anne Quatrano and Clifford Harrison, the supper will celebrate a progressive South, respectful of the past, but keen on a diverse and inclusive future.

This year, the supper will celebrate the unsung heroes of the restaurant world, like dishwashers, waiters, valets, hostesses, and bussers.  All impact the dining experience, but few are recognized and celebrated for their work. Farmers are finally beginning to get their due. Now it's time to celebrate those people Martin Luther King Jr called "members of the ground crew."

Proceeds from the evening benefit the Southern Foodways Alliance, an institute of the Center for the Study of Southern Culture at the University of Mississippi. Through documentary, classroom, and outreach initiatives, SFA sets a common table where black and white, rich and poor-all who gather-may consider our history and our future in a spirit of reconciliation.

Where and When: April 12, 2015 at Summerland Farm, Cartersville, Georgia. Buses depart Star Provisions in Atlanta at 5:00 p.m. Bites and dinner begins at Summerland Farm upon arrival, and buses return for Star Provisions by 9:30 p.m. If you live closer to Cartersville than to Atlanta, we'll email on April 6 to announce a second (suburban) park and ride option. IF YOU HAVE DIFFICULTY ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND NEED AN EMERGENCY CONTACT FOR THE EVENT, DIAL 662.607.2054 OR 662.715.9046.

Your New South Family Supper ticket includes food, beverage, programming, and round trip transportation from Atlanta to Summerland Farm. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Southern Foodways Alliance.
